* Mr. Martin Buser - |
|||
|
Internationally famous dog sled musher and an Alaskan icon if ever there were one. Martin was born in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1958, and moved to Alaska in 1979 to enhance his knowledge of care and training of sled dogs. His dogs hold the record for the fastest Iditarod finish in history and he was recently featured on Dirty Jobs, the Discovery Channel series with Mike Rowe- Martin Buser's Website |

* Ms. Dee Dee Jonrowe - |
We are very honored to have another world famous dog sled musher and a proud Breast Cancer Survivor as a judge. DeeDee has competed and won most major dog sledding races throughout her career, including the Copper Basin 300, Klondike 300 and the John Bear grease sled dog marathon. She is as tough as they get and has seen a few beards over the years but we can be sure that most of those beards have been covered in frost! -- Dee Dee Jonrowe's Website |

* Ms. Susan Duck- |
Susan is the Executive Director of Greater Anchorage Inc./Anchorage Fur Rendezvous. They have been the organizers for the world famous Fur Rendezvous held every winter in Anchorage. Fur Rondy boasts the World Championship Sled Dog Sprint Races, and many fun events for child and adudult alike. They have renewed their commitment to the Miners and Trappers Ball to the benefit of both organizations. |

Shad is the owner of Trendsetters School of Beauty in Anchorage, Alaska. They are a family business and offer full service hair care and are an accredited school of beauty. Shad has been a judge for several past Mr. Fur Face competitions. He brings a wealth of knowledge about hair and hair care, and we are happy to be able to tap into his expertise. Trendsetters School of Beauty is located at 407 E. Northern Lights Blvd and the phone number is 907-274-4247. They also have 2 other styling salons, one in Eagle River and one in South Anchorage. |

* Mr. Buster Hall - |
Buster is a member of the Anchorage Captain Cook Lions Club and has been involved with the Lions Clubs for 39 years. He was a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs from 2000-2002. He has received multiple Presidents Awards, as well as the Ambassador of Good Will Award, which is the highest honor granted by the Association. Buster and his son Willy have owned Busters Professional Upholstery since 1990. Buster is a past president of the Alaskan Marine Dealers Association, a life member of the Alaska Boat Association, a life member of the Pioneers of Alaska, past president of the Alaska Childrens Services and the 1994 Volunteer of the Year for the American Diabetes Association, Alaska Affiliate. Buster was also the Meeting Planner of the Year for the City of Anchorage in 2007. Buster has also been involved with the Miners and Trappers Ball. |

* Ms. Judi Kidder - |
Judi is a commercial embroiderer on Kodiak Island, a published poet, with nature being here muse, and a member of Made in Kodiak for her handcrafted artwork. She currently holds a second term seat on the Kodiak Lions Club board of directors and is a second year graduate of the Lions X-Men Leadership Training Program. She has been a past judge for the Mr. Fur Face contest as she has a genuine eye for the whisker. She is an organinzer of the Kodiak Fishing Derby. |

* Mr. Carlos Gomez - |
We are very pleased to have Carlos as a judge for the contest. He and Dalia, his wife, have 3 children and their middle child, Scott, is an ice hockey legend. Scott was a member of the 2000 NHL Stanley Cup Champions, the New Jersey Devils. He also won the 2000 Calder Memorial Trophy for "Rookie of the Year" and is the as well as being the NHL's first Hispanic/Latino player being of Mexican and Colombian descent. The Gomez family has created the Scotty Gomez Foundation to help raise funds for young players in Alaska who need a scholarship to be able to afford to keep playing hockey. |

*Mr. Jeff King - |
World famous Alaskan dog sled musher and owner of Goose Lake Kennels. Jeff moved to Alaska in 1975 and has since worked his dog teams to win the Iditarod Sled Dog Race 4 times, and over two dozen first place finishes in races all across Alaska. He and his wife live just outside Denali National Park. We are glad to count Jeff in as a judge. |

*Mr. Brock Lindow - |
The lead singer of the band 36 Crazy Fists, Brock was born in Soldotna, AK and was one of the four founding members of 36 Crazy Fists in 1994. They have opened for bands such as System of a Down, Primus, Blink-182, NOFX, and have toured extensively in the US and Europe. The band is composed of Brock, Steve Holt, Thomas Noonan, and Brett Makowski. They have had 4 major label releases, 6 independent releases, and multiple other releases. The band is currently based out of Portland, OR but come home every summer for a big music festival in AK. Thanks guys! |

Susan is the owner of Allure Day Spa and Hair Design. Allure Day Spa and Hair Design is the premier, award winning salon and spa located in downtown Anchorage. They offer the full range of salon and spa services performed by highly trained, professional individuals, who strive to provide the guests with an experience, not just an appointment. After the rigors of the beard contest, maybe we can just walk over to the Allure for the full relaxation treatment! |

*Ms. Barbara Hole - |
Lifelong Alaskan and former President of the Miners and Trappers, Inc. Barbara has been involved with beard contests for a whopping 26 years and devotes much time to charitable activities. She was the brains behind the Honey Bear category at the Mr. Fur Face contest. We are honored that she has agreed to be a judge for the championships. |
